Being able to communicate effectively is essential to improving outcomes for refugees.  Without opportunities to learn and practise language, to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how to live in their new communities, it is all too easy for people to become isolated.  You don’t need to be qualified teacher to volunteer with us.  You don’t need a degree or a long cv of experience.  We invite volunteers to both lead and support learning.  As long as you have a good level of English you can make a difference.  We offer full training before you work in the field.  There are volunteering opportunities in the UK and abroad.  There is no minimum requirement for volunteering.  You can offer one hour, one day, one week, one month, one year!  Whatever you can fit into your life, whenever you can fit it into your life.  Volunteering with Crisis Classroom is an opportunity for you to gain new skills, to meet new people, learn new languages and do your bit to make the world a kinder and more understanding place.  Sign up via the Home page.

“I found the training so worthwhile.  I love the way The Crisis Classroom works; unimposing, welcoming and enlightening. I’m looking forward to volunteering with their team.” Georgina Robertson, Teacher

“Darren and Kate are two amazing individuals who deeply care about bringing positive change in the world. I had an inspiring and thought provoking weekend that has equipped me with tools that I can use not only in crisis situations but also in day to day situations as well.” Ioannis Pantelidis, Lecturer Brighton University
